About The Curragh

The word "Curragh means place of the running horse. The Irish turf club was founded in the coffee rooms in Kildare and it was soon established as the governing body for horse racing throughout Ireland.

Less that an hour from Dublin, we host the best flat racing in the country from March to October including all Five Classic Races featuring the Abu Dhabi 1000 and Etihad 2000 Guineas, Dubai Duty-Free Irish Derby, Darley Irish Oaks, and The Irish Field St. Leger.
