St. Patrick’s Day Parades

One of the highlights of the weekend is the many St Patrick’s Day parades taking place in villages, towns and cities across the country. These community events bring colour, music and creativity to the streets and are made possible by the volunteers who work behind the scenes each year to create a festive day for families.
Airfield Estate
Dublin | Until 14th
Airfield Estate in Dundrum hosts a family-friendly St Patrick’s weekend with activities celebrating farming, food and nature. Families can explore a Shamrock Trail around the estate, watch sheepdog trials and butter making demonstrations and try cow milking in the farmyard. There will also be crafts, story-time and guided tours of Overends' House, with a farmers market taking place on Saturday.
St Patrick’s Weekend & Mother’s Day at Explorium
Ireland | March 14th-17th
Explorium is marking St Patrick’s weekend with a mix of family fun and sweet treats. Visitors from March 14th to 17th can enjoy a day exploring the science and adventure centre before finishing their visit with a free Häagen-Dazs ice cream on the way out, while stocks last.
On Sunday, Mother’s Day visitors including mums, carers, grandmothers and guardians will receive a token for a free coffee. Children will also receive a voucher to gift someone special a free return visit to Junior Explorium or Science Explorium.
Zog

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved story Zog comes to the stage in a lively musical adventure for children and families. The story follows the eager young dragon at Madam Dragon’s school who is determined to earn his golden star, despite a series of mishaps along the way.
Featuring colourful puppetry, playful storytelling and original songs by Joe Stilgoe, the production brings the popular children’s book to life with humour and warmth. Created by the producers behind Stick Man and Zog and the Flying Doctors, the show is designed to entertain both younger audiences and the adults accompanying them.
The National Antiques Art & Vintage Fair
Limerick | Until 14th
Ireland’s longest running and largest Antiques, Art and Vintage Fair returns in its 36th year. Held five times each year, this fully indoor event brings together a wide range of dealers offering antiques, vintage pieces, artwork and collectibles. Visitors can browse stalls featuring everything from decorative items and jewellery to furniture and curios. Entry is €5 for adults, children go free and there is free parking available right outside the venue.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
Ireland | Until March 17th
Seachtain na Gaeilge continues across the country with community events celebrating Gaeilge and Irish culture. On Saturday, families can take part in storytelling, music and dance workshops for children at Donabate Library, enjoy Breakfast in Irish at Lawlor’s of Naas, join an art workshop with The Arty Fox at Letterkenny Library or attend a storytelling and music session for families at Gibb Town Hall in Meath. Over the weekend, there will be céilís, comhráite, family cultural days and local celebrations, including a St Patrick’s Day Family Cultural Day at Saul Patrick GAA in Offaly, as the festival continues towards St Patrick’s Day.
All Things Irish
Dublin Zoo | 14th - 17th March
Throughout the festival, visitors can enjoy storytelling, puppet shows, keeper talks, creative workshops and live music, alongside disco bingo and family games in the Discovery and Learning Centre. On Sunday, one free adult ticket is available when booking online with a full paying adult or child ticket, offering an easy way to celebrate Mother’s Day during the St Patrick’s weekend festivities.
